I attended college in Pomona, California where I was an all
american football player. My medical training was at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. This included
medical school, internship and Orthopedic Surgical Residency. I then did a hand and microvascular surgical fellowship with
Dr. Jack Tupper in Oakland, California. After that it was straight into private practice in Visalia, California for the next
27 years.
While in Visalia, I initiated and continued to organize yearly pre-sport athletic exams for four area high
schools. I was the football team doctor for Redwood High School and The College of the Sequoias, attending both home and
away football games. Other volunteer work includes covering rodeos, alumni football games and judo tournaments.
My
practice involves mostly elective oupatient surgeries. I enjoy knee and hand surgery but do not limit my practice to just
these areas.
Having moved to the coast for lifestyle reasons, I enjoy taking time with patients, giving them a chance
to explain their problems and then try to give appropriate suggestions to help them. Surgery is only one part of any treatment
plan and can often be avoided.
